Internet settings for Netscape 4
To use the Internet features that CuraNet provides, you have
to configure some settings in netscape 4.X.
1. E-mail and Usenet news.
When you open Netscape for the first time, it will create a new
profile for you. This step-by-step-document describes what to
enter at the various screens.
These settings can also be found under "Edit -> Preferences
-> Mail and Newsgroups" in the Netscape program.
- .a. Fill in your full name
and e-mail address (at "Identity"
in the "Preferences" menu).
- .b. In the next window, use the program defaults for your
profile name and location.
- .c. The outgoing mail server (SMTP server) is: mailhub.cura.net
(at "Mail Servers" in the "Preferences"
menu)
- .d. When the program asks you for your username,
please do not enter "username@cura.net". Only the
username is enough!
- The incoming mail server is: popmail.cura.net
(at "Mail Servers" in the "Preferences"
menu)
- Mail server type is: POP3
- .e. The news server (NNTP) is: news.cura.net.
It's port number is: 119 (at "Newsgroup Servers" in
the "Preferences" menu)
- .f. Hit the "Finish" button to finalize your profile
settings. (or the OK butons if you are in the "Preferences")
2. Homepage location
- .a. In the Netscape program, go to "Edit" ->
"Preferences". The preferences window of Netscape
opens.
- .b. In "Category" "Navigator" (on the
left side of the screen) you see: "Homepage, Location"
(on the right side of the screen). Fill in: http://www.cura.net
- .c. Hit the "OK" buttons to finalize your configuration.
No restart is needed.
