Windows XP for CuraNet
To make a connection with the Internet, you have to configure
some settings in Windows.
This step-by-step-document describes how to do this.
1.1 Create a new connection.
- To create a new connection click on the "Start"
button and open the "Control panel".
- In here, click on "Switch to classic view".
- Double click on the "network connections" icon.
- In here click on "Create a new connection" to open
the New Connection Wizard and click
on the "next" button to proceed with the following
steps.
- What do you want to do?
- Select the "Connect to the internet" component
and than click "next".
- How do you want to connect to the
internet?
- Select the "Setup my connection manually" component
and click "next".
- Now select the "Connect using a dial-up modem"
component and click "next".
1.2 Connection name.
- Type the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the
following box.
- Type "CuraNet 55" as the name for the computer
you are dialing and click "next".
- Type the phone number below.
- Type "5700455" our digital number and click "next".
1.3 Username and password.
- Type your Internet Service Provider username and password.
- Type your Internet username and your password and confirm
the password.
- Select the "Make this the default internet connection"
by putting a "√" in the check box.
- Optional.
**Select the "Internet connection firewall" by putting
a "√" in the check box and click "next".
1.4 Completing the new connection.
- Add a shortcut to this connection on your desktop by putting
a "√" in the check box and click on "Finish"
and when the dial up connection window appears.
