How wet or dry was it?

2004 through today

This graph shows the amount of rain which fell in Van Engelen, Curaçao between January 2004 and December 2009. The leftmost bar in each month's column is the average rainfall measured between 1979 and 2009.
As you can see on this graph, monthly rainfall amounts can vary quite a bit. From as little as 0.0 mm in a few months (see March 2001 and August 2005) to as much as almost 356 mm (November 2004).
You don't have to be a graph expert to notice that the wettest months of the year are found in October, November and December. Rainfall amounts in all months of the year can vary quite a bit from one year to another. Compare for instance the amount of rain measured in April 2006 with the amount in the same month in the previous year (2005).
Even the months in the rainy season can differ quite a bit from one year to another. November 2009 was the driest November ever while November 2004 and 2005 were much wetter and in fact the wettest ever at my station.

August was very dry and ended that way as well. The first four days in September also were dry but finally some rain fell later on the fourth. It counted however for the fifth, since it fell after 8 A.M.
